Customizable flash gallery

This is a project resumed from an old template I can’t even remember where I found it.
A flash gallery with some customizable effect, such as:

- Thumbnail size and position
- Final image size and position
- Speed
- Friction (the “bounce” effect)
- Alpha fading

There is room for much improvement such as total actionscripting, flash 8 compatibility and so on, but at the moment here it is… if you should improve it, let me know it.

Download the movie in Flash 8 or Flash Mx 2004 formats.

The .fla file has comments or every variable you can change .

I noticed there is an issue with firefox, going to fix it…

  3. Neville Phillips says:

With FireFox currently 27.1% of the share that’s quite an issue!

    Hello
I would like to know does it compatible with Actionscript 2? Thanks!

  5. Emanuele Feronato says:

    Yes, it is

I modified this so that the fullsize can be clickable to go to a different site.

I think this program needs loaders and separate thumbs so that it doesn’t take so long to load. It could load the thumbs and then run. Instead of waiting to load all the pictures.

An external config file and a picture description would be nice too.

    Hi there,
I’m a newbie in flash, so be patient please. How can I set up default image? I mean after the page is loaded, one of the images is already selected? It could be good, becouse empty space does’t look very well, when flash background color is in the same color as the web page is.

    Thank you for your help.

PS: these 23 lines (most of them comments) in actions , is all made in action script? Where can I see the whole script? :-) As i sad, i’m a newbie….

  12. Matthew says:

    Great Little Gallery there!
I agree with Joel and Rob.. clickable fullsize pics would be great. And, I agree with Jan. Maybe make image 00 fullsize when the movie is loaded.

Hi there!! I have a problem with this sgallery that is driving me crazy. I really like the look of the gallery and its simplicity really suits my site. It wasnt working for hours and hours for me when i put it in my site and then i found what the problem was. My site is set at Flash Player 7 settings in the publishing settings section. I realised that the gallery is set to Flash Player 6 settings and although the photos appear nothing happens. When i change my site to Flash player 6 settings it woeks but lots of other movie clips stop working. What can I do to make it work under Flash 7 settings?

    Hi Emanuele,

first of all I want to tell you that I really like the realisation of the gallery. I know it’s been over a year that you made it but I was wondering if there’s a simple way to change the code so that the first thumbnail (pic00) is already open/bigger without clicking on it at the beginning. Is this possible at all with this code?

An answer would be very appreciated.

  19. Pri says:

Come on, you’re good at programming, so what’s the problem with giving a little advice or at least an answer?

  20. Pri says:

I guess the implementation is not that easy, I give up.

  21. Alejandro says:

    Pri, Emanuele,

I have the implemtation, is not hard to do, if you want, i can send the source code updated.

    cheers

    Great File!

When I update the pictures (00, 01, etc) they still show up at 300×300 resolution – even if I change the big_x size to match the bigger photo.

Is it possible to change that? Thanks!

  23. antonio says:

    I got it! nevermind… Thanks!
