BoulderFlash – a Boulderdash flash tribute

When I was much younger I had a Commodore 128. I enjoyed a lot of games, but one of them was really good in my opinion.
I am talking about Boulderdash.

Boulderdash

The hero of the game, whom the player controls, is the brave prospector “Rockford”. He must dig through caves collecting gems and diamonds, while avoiding various types of dangerous creatures as well as obstacles like falling rocks and the constant danger of being crushed or trapped by an avalanche, or killed by an underground explosion.

A lot of “casual” games are inspired to Boulderdash, and I decided to create a tribute game to this gem.

It’s still in alpha, but I would like you to try and play it a bit.

Of course, as the work in progress continues and the game gets more and more completed, I am going to release the source code and some tutorials about the making of this game.

Meanwhile, that’s what I have right now: arrow keys to play and if you die you have to reload the page :)

Tell me what do you think about…

I loved Boulderdash :) I just made a short model rocket video last week with the theme music from that game. (Classic C64!)

Really good, but one thing I noticed was that sometimes the player would start off completely boxed in by boulders.
    Apart from that, great work!

This needs a reset button. I have to reload the page to restart the game. Otherwise nice.
