Jail Break: Flash game based on Security tutorials

Jail Break is an interesting game made by Joshua Thong starting from my Create a flash game like Security tutorial.

Not only Joshua added new and fresh features like lasers, doors and keys, but he is releasing the source code!

Moreover the is an instructions page and an end game one… will you see it? The game is not the easiest ever made, but every room has a function that enables you to get to the exit

First of all, play the game:

Then download the source code and see how Joshua developed all new features.

That’s what Joshua said:

I didn’t really know how to make the camera sight and the key disappear…so i moved it out of the screen. but
unfortunately, in the flash player, you can enlarge the window and you see everything out of the screen and you will find that the camera sight and the key is there =P
luckily though i fixed it later on in the game.]

Once again, I strongly encourage you all to share source codes of your experiments or old games. That’s what makes this blog different than the rest.

Thank you very much Joshua!

Wow. I’m thirteen, and whenever I try to make a game like that, I start out well but then get bored.

    That was a fun game.

I think Joshua should have changed the appearance of the game, I mean it looks exactly the same as the tutorial Emanuele did…Josh, if you read this comment, work on your design skills, it will really help for basically all flash projects you do. It really helps me

    Sweet game Joshua!
I’m 12, and homeschooled, and I also love making stuff in flash.
I’m tryin my self at making a game… (I have flash open right now as I’m typing this… trying to fix my game’s stupid problem)
But I never actually managed to finish one :p

And Joshua, you chould try submitting your game to somewhere like hallpass.com.

    BTW I’m building a website 2. ^^
It’ll be http://www.gamemastertips.com, but I already have a small flash thing up there.

The ‘RightClick-Forward’ cheat does work. I didn’t find any glitch.

But it is a nice game, even if you atleast change the style of it. It does look exect like the tutorial.

    Hi, Emanuele,
I’ve been following your tutorials for almost a year now. I’ve made several games and i thank you for almost every one. I was wondering two thingsm first if you could make a tut about editors (you know, to make maps and stuff (i try to do it several times, but i just can’t do it well, i tried ur line drawing tut) and how to send files made by the editor made into a file to share and upload others. P.S. Where can i host my games.

Everyone - I want to say something, do not make the power above 5, or else ppl can cheat by moving through the wall. I created the first few levels in hours cause i couldnt get that, but then the rest took me like half an hr.
