Play Mazeroll, my latest Box2D game

After SamePhysics, I made another Box2D game called Mazeroll.

Mazeroll

You have to drag a maze to made two circles touch, collecting as much red orbs as you can, before time reaches zero.

You can find some clues about the making of this game reading The magic of compound objects with Box2D and Perfect maze generation – tile based version.

I simply put together these two concept and added some gameplay.

As you can see there are some in-game banners, and there is room for two more banners in the rotation, so starting from June 29, when the game is supposed to have been widely published, I will insert two (and only two) more ** LIFETIME ** banners for as low as $100 per banner.

Drop me an email at info[at]emanueleferonato.com if you want to be one of the lucky two people that will get these banners.

It sucks that you can move the maze out of screen boundaries. An alternate control scheme using cursor keys with a fixed only rotating maze would be nice.

I just tried it out. It’s very nice. But when I reached level 3 and got all the red balls, it said: Game Over! that’s not good is it? :)

He’s right, You need to add screen boundaries, I lost the box on level 1. :(

    Other than that, nice game!

I had the same problem, level one and I lost because the box flew off the screen. Then I went to crazy with flinging it around and the balls flew out of the maze.

Good idea, but the controls are flawed. The restitution of the circles should be set to near 0 for tighter controls and the maze vibrates a lot. As it is now it is too frustrating. With some adjustments it could be a great game.

A little annoying that highscores just start loading like that.

I would advertise the play again but apparently there are no tickets left. So there. I don’t even have a ticket, dammit.

As tolleder said, a fixed only rotating maze would probably be better.

From my point of view, at the moment it is greatly presented, but the gameplay is pretty bad.

    Hey Emanuele,
you know i am a TOTAL fan of yours and 80% I learned from you, but when i played this game it got boring at level 3. Great physic’s as always but is was a bit boring.

Good game. Challenging and addictive. I didn’t immediately notice the timer, but everything else made sense.

    Emanuele,

Keep up the good work. It’s always good to check out your blog from time to time.

As for the game, fixed rotating would probably be a cool addition. We just published a new game called Study Hall that does just that. I would be happy to share some tips on how it all works if you like.

    Best,

    Nice one, Emanuele! (
I second the others opinions on the boundaries though.)

I like and wonder, how you included a tile enginge in this one.
Hope we can wish for another great article of you covering tiles in Box2D. :D

Emanuele your tutorials are really helpful and your work is amazing!

When can we get a tutorial on how to access the properties of the shape movieClips (like gotoAndStop(2))

    Makes sense?

Your help is so much appreciated ;)

    Cheers!

    Mike
