Moved on a new server

I am happy to annouce the blog has moved on a new server.

My old server, aruba.it, simply had too much problems to host a blog with high traffic, and as you probably experienced during the last days, the blog was hacked too much times.

The funny thing is every time I reported the problem to the customer care, they replied (normally after 24 hours, from monday to friday) it was my fault.

If I have a fault, is waiting that long before migrating (but I prefer to say “running away”)

Now I am hosted on HostGator and finally I am back to life!!!

Since moving more than 6,000 files and about 25,000 queries can lead to some errors, I would like you to report any missing file or strange behavior to info[at]emanueleferonato.com

    Hostgator is a nice cheap reliable host. I spent a long time with them with zero problems.

    You should be more grateful to Aruba though. They helped get you where you are today.

    Hello Emanuele!

    I’ve just noticed your post on this server migration to Hostgator.

    I’m a customer for about 2 years now.. and I can’t say that I’m that pleased. The customer care is somewhat weird: there are times when you stumble upon a really tech savy guy and it helps you instantly and other times you get the really comfy ones that pass you along.

    Now.. I’ve seen the 25k queries.. those are quite a lot of queries.. maybe you can think of a way.. am not sure if WordPress is able to.. but with your skills it shouldn’t be that much of a trouble..to have your website presented in cache mode and you can have a small auto generating system that updates your site every time something gets published.

    This way you would save A LOT of resources and also using gzip.. I’m seeing that you are using it but some sections get passed the compression somehow…

    Other than that.. good luck with the new plan (to be honest I’m planing to move from Hostgator.. simply because they do not have a higher limit than 2.5TB of traffic / month and the extra gig costs .5$.. which is a tone of money)

    Cheers :)

    @Dani

    wow thats a TON a of bandwidth , how much you pay monthly on server costs? o.O

    is it more in the amount of visitors or that the content is very consuming ?
