Four years of blogging

Ladies, gentlemen and geeks, let me announce the blog has four years!!!

The blog had 77 posts in the first year, 187 in the second one and 237 on the 3rd and 218 this year for a total of 719 posts!!

While keeping a blog up and running (and growing) for 4 years is quite a milestone, you have know it’s not easy to make 719 posts easily searchable and accessible to readers.

I am thinking about some kind of redesign but I’m in a little trouble because at the moment I can’t figure out how to list all interesting posts in a sidebar, or somewhere around the site, in a clear way. Also I would like to put emphasys on series, with all steps listed in sequence.

Any clue?

Below the ads and the search bar on the right side, there is tons of blank space where you could put a navigation bar sort of thing. Then for the series, you could do something like this:

Making a flash game:
>>Part 1
>>Part 2
>>Part 3

Great work ,
need some kind of indexing as their are to much post .
Yesterday I was with one of my friend we calculated the page based on the post as he wanna learn some flash and he is totally new to flash thus we calculates pages as
for a stating post in flash as topics are 468
the page would be
http://www.emanueleferonato.com/category/flash/page/47/
10 post per page 8 in the last

this is quite difficult for a new reader so indexing would be preferred. As many people coming to your site for first time are beginner to flash the need the starting tutorials .

your continuous devotion to flash is appreciable Hat’s off for you

suggestion about indexing ……..
Sub indexing would be great,
index containing indexes .
Like index for flash would contain the flash topics not the part 1 or part 2 .
like it contain “flash game tutorial for beginner”
which link to a sub index where and it will contain the parts.
We are confident you can do it .

Suggestions:
- Don’t link all the posts, just the first post of each serie
- In the first post, put a link of all the steps (requires manual editing)
- You really need something to hide/show/restart the SWF sample without reloading the entire page (for future post at least)
- You could use some script to show the code in HTML/TXT format as seen in other blogs

I discovered your blog about a year ago. I must say it’s one of the best web programming resources I have found on the web. Keep up the great work my friend! :)
