It’s a publishing company specialized focused books on specific technologies and solutions for communities of developers, administrators, and newbies alike. I used to call Packt Publishing (PP from now on) books as “the books with great content and great photos on the cover”. I am sure you know what I mean.

What about the news?

1) I am actually reading (and ejoying) two books PP gave me to review on this blog: Flash 10 Multiplayer Game Essentials and Flash Multiplayer Virtual Worlds. So expect some tutorials about both topics, as well as a complete review of these (and more) books

2) I am doing a technical review for a book focused on the new Facebook Graph API. As a technical reviewer, I have to give feedback on the book while it’s being written. Doing a technical review will make you learn a lot of useful writing tips which will make you a better blogger too. If you are interested in reviewing for PP, refer to this page.

3) I am writing a book. Yes, I am the author of an upcoming Flash book (guess the topic) which will probably be published on 2011 1st quarter. At the moment I am writing chapter 5 of 11. You can’t pre-order it at the moment but I hope a couple of you will get it.

I want to sell more than the whole Harry Potter series, so save your bucks for my book.

Then, I suggest you to use some time of this January 1st to make a list of achievements you want for this year.

Here’s mine (related to the blog)

1) Release 10 Flash games

2) Release a new game portal and bring it to top 100,000 Alexa ranking

3) Bring the blog to top 20,000 Alexa ranking

4) Release 5 Facebook applications

5) Have 1,500 more Facebook fans, for a total of 2,500

6) Having fun while doing steps 1-5
